A Web Site for Residents
Greenspring Village Residents have their very own Web Site. The site was constructed by a Resident team under the auspices of the GSV Computer Club and went "on line" in October 2000. The site provides useful information of interest to the GSV Community. Its sole purpose is to benefit and provide enjoyment to the Residents, their families and friends.
Web pages for
the site are created and maintained by GSV residents and is now hosted
courtesy of Arledge Electronics Incorporated.
The Web address is www.greenspringresident.com
The GSV Resident Web Site helps to serve the communication needs and desires of the residents of GSV and will hopefully encourage more residents to take advantage of the Internet and World Wide Web. Its policy is to present a positive image of GSV, its staff and residents with good taste and decorum.
The web pages
contain GSV news items with a complete copy of the "Villager",
"Memories" and the Library Catalog (over 6000 books, audios and videos). Included
are the Trips and Travel page, a Photo Album, dining
menus, the
Transportation Schedule, the GSV Staff Directory and many other items of
interest to the community. Archives of the "Villager" and "Memories" newsletters are maintained.
The Resident Information Section of the GSV Web Site is in a secure directory and requires a password for access. It contains the Resident Directory and the Resident Handbook and other non-public information. When you click on this link you will be prompted to enter a user ID and a password. The user ID and password will be available only to residents and staff. If you know the ID and password you may pass them on to any other resident or staff. The future holds even more exciting and useful possibilities for our Web Site. It's ours to take advantage of.
Residents and
Staff are invited to become part of the Web Site team, to learn internet
technology
and apply their skills and experience to create, edit and maintain the pages
of the GSV Resident's Web Site. All are invited to join in this venture. The
Web Site Review Group meets on the first Monday at 1:30 PM in the TC Class Room. Come help us create new pages and maintain the site. We need help from anyone
willing to pitch in. Just show up and find your niche.
